Dafne Boggeri
Video presentation text
LIANE, Dafne Boggeri, video, digital file, color, audio, 16’, 2017
A visual diary that collects fragments recorded in low-fi technique during years of urban pilgrimage. The scenes mark a rhythm that accompanying combinations in which nature and artifice meet through an avid eye choreography looking for parts to build an anatomy of reality which appears as it seems: ambiguously magical as an haiku. The original soundtrack was made by the artist and the video was presented during the solo show LIANE~LINEA~ALIEN (Marsèlleria, Milan, 2017).
Biography
Dafne Boggeri (Tortona, Italy, 1975, lives in Milan) works in a multidisciplinary manner, examining the ways in which meaning and significance can be articulated between the borders of a potential scenario/frame, exploring how events become possible, visible, negotiable. Focused on the perception of the body, the objects, the spatial and the relationship between the opposites.
Her artistic practice articulates, as a continuum, also in curatorial projects as MOTHER (2009-2011) a drawing across time and terrain in the form of an itinerant (Tel Aviv-London-Berlin) D.I.Y. festival dedicated to women’s contemporary music and art, in collaboration with Noga Inbar; FULL MOON SALOON (2012) as a testing ground for ideas and practices to meet, artists invited to present works in progress, surfacing in the one night exhibition took place every night of full moon throughout the year, in a total of thirteen episodes; SPRINT (2013-in progress) _\|/_ Independent Publishers and Artists' Books Salon, devoted to an ethical promotion and a critical platform on contemporary publishing.
She founded the art and activist group Pornflakes Queer Crew (2000-2004) that has evolved in TOMBOYS DON'T CRY a queer collective that, since the 2010, aims to promote a post-identity agenda within culture, activism and adventure.
With the artist Daniella Isamit Morales and musician Adele H she is part of the experimental music project TISANA.
Her collaboration include the performing dance group Barokthegreat (2012-2015) for the projects Indigenous, The Victory Smoke, L'Attacco del Clone and Cobra, that circulated in the major European festivals.
